I need to boot into a different OS USB stick and wipe the hard drive. It wouldn't be so bad if I could get to safe mode or even get to a restore point but once the tablet refuses to boot you can't boot through the Win8 USB stick either.

This time the tablet froze as I was installing the first update (at Preparing to Install.) The thing was totally locked up so I had to hard reboot. My money is on the AMD driver.Įdit2: The updates never finished to I had to wipe the hard drive and try again. If I can't get back in to Windows 8 I will wipe and re-install and then install the updates one at a time to find the bad one. I will give it an hour and then try a forced restart but I suspect it is now not going to finish the updates and I'll be stuck with a non working OS again. I'll try the SD card driver and see if that causes the hang. It has been working fine but I haven't installed any drivers yet. I wiped my hard drive and installed just Win 8.
